If you’re looking for the ultimate paradise destination, then Sardina’s Cala Bernardu is for you. This is known to be one of the most secluded beaches in the whole of the island, and although it takes a little bit of a trek to reach, it’s more than worth it for the spectacular views. 

If you don’t want to travel too far, however, there are a number of other beaches that you can visit too, without having to sweat. One of the most popular beaches in La Pelosa, which is truly breathtaking. Bear in mind that if you’re visiting during peak times in the summer, the beaches can get rather crowded.

The island has a lot of natural beauty, especially in the Barbagia mountains, which are known for harboring a lot of indigenous animals. 

This means that it’s probably a good idea that you bring along your binoculars, so that you can try and spot some. Sardinia is also known for being excellent for bird watching, with Sarrabus cascaded over the island, so if this is your thing, you’re going to love it here. 

4. The Delicious Food 

Now, we couldn’t go through our list without mentioning the amazing food that Sardina has to offer. We all know that Italian food is the best, and this island is no exception. They’re, of course, famous for their amazing pasta dishes, as well as their culurgiones, which is a special kind of dumpling covered in marinara sauce. 

But, if carbohydrates aren’t really your thing, not to fear, because Sardiana is also famous for its excellent meat dishes, which you’ll find in abundance on this island. Specifically their pork and lamb are known for being particularly delicious, so make sure that you try these.

When it comes to desserts, Sardinia has a lot of delicious and unusual varieties to offer. One of their most delicious desserts is made of potatoes, whereas another is made of cheese and covered with lots of honey. If you want to try something a little different, you can definitely do so here. 

5. Gorgeous Capital City 

If you want to do some exploring, as well as relaxing when you visit this island, then we can guarantee you won’t be bored, as there are plenty of things to do. 

Just take a look at Caliari, which is Sardinia’s capital city. If you want to visit some spectacular buildings, with amazing architecture, then you’ve come to the right place, because these are on this island. 

It has several particularly beautiful cathedrals, which are renowned for their amazing artwork contained inside. You can simply stroll around and admire the many beautiful buildings on this Island. 

If you’re into shopping, then there are also plenty of different shops that you can easily explore. These range in terms of price, so you can find everything from high street shops, to designer boutiques. 

The best thing about this city is that it’s known for being very progressive in terms of food. So, if you’re a vegetarian or vegan, you’ll find lots of restaurants that cater to these dietary requirements in the capitol.

We know that we’ve already mentioned the delicious food, but we felt that we needed a separate category that specifically looks at their pizza. 

Unlike other parts of Italia, Sardinia is actually known for having its own unique, distinctive type of pizza. So, if you want to try something a little different, then you should definitely visit. Their unique pizza is called pizzetta sfoglia, which comes in a rounded stack, with a tomato and cheese filling, that’s surrounded by lots of flaky pastry.

We promise that you’ve never tried anything like this before in your entire life, so you simply have to sample their delicious pizza varieties. 

7. Awe Inspiring Castles 

If you haven’t already noticed that Sardinia looks very much like something straight out of a Disney movie, you will most definitely now. There are lots of other castles you can visit too, one of which boasts a giant tower that, if you’re brave enough to climb, will grant you with the most spectacular views imaginable. 

That’s right, you’ll feel just like a fairytale princess when you visit these grand locations. 

8. Interesting Artifacts 

If you’re somebody who is very much into history, then we can guarantee that there will be plenty of points of interest when you visit this island. In fact, you can actually deep dive (quite literally) to take a first hand look at these artifacts yourself. 

Sardinia is well known for harboring lots of Roman ruins in the town of Nora. So, make sure you visit here because you could find yourself having the most awe inspiring experience of your life. 

Here, you’ll find the ruins of a lost Roman city that has all sorts of amazing buildings, including an amphitheater, large bath complexes, and mosaic floors. 

There is even a section of this historical trail which urges you to physically go underwater. With a guide at your side, you’ll be able to traverse through the underwater roads, which lead to more hidden artifacts.

When you go to Sardinia, one of the first things you’ll notice is how friendly and welcoming the people are. In fact, if you’re ever having any trouble finding somewhere on your map, the Sardinian people will go out of their way to help you. 

They come across as incredibly shy, but this is just in their nature, so don’t be surprised if they get embarrassed when you try to thank them for their help. 

You’ll also notice that the Sardianan people are incredibly hospitable, this is something else that is very much a part of their culture. You might notice that in your hotel room you have a great deal of treats scattered around. This is their way of making you feel welcome.
